Shipwreck Beach
Also known as Navagio Bay or Navagio Beach, Shipwreck Bay is the most famous stretch of sand in Zakynthos. This beach is located on the western shores of the island, located near the popular Anafotiria village. The beach gets its name from a ship that wrecked on the beach when illegally transporting cigarettes in 1983. To reach this unique destination, visitors must take a boat from the Porto Vromi. Gerakas Beach
Gorgeous turquoise waters highlight the landscape of Gerakas Beach. This beach is located 18 kilometers south of the capital of the island. The soft and sandy beach offers one of the best places on the island for taking a dip or simply soaking up the Mediterranean sun. The numerous rock formations along the seashore make the beach feel even more isolated. As a bonus, this beach offers free parking. Gerakas Beach is also known for being a shelter to the endangered sea turtle, named caretta-caretta.
Kalamaki Beach
Kalamaki Beach is a good choice if you are near the capital Zakynthos town and do not want to have to travel far to reach an amazing place to relax and rejuvenate. You can reach this beach by traveling six kilometers south of Zakynthos town and then going to the eastern side of the bay of Laganas. This beach is part of the National Marine Park and is distinguished by its towering rocks and lush gardens. While the area is largely undeveloped, there is a cafe behind the beach for visitors to enjoy.
Porto Zoro Beach
Porto Zoro Beach boasts an exceptional swimming experience away from the hustle and bustle of Zakynthos island.
