Top Beaches on Mykonos Island

Mykonos is one of those Greek islands that people flock to each year. They are attracted to the gorgeous scenery, relaxing way of life, and the gorgeous beaches. Although Mykonos is known as a party island, it is also great for families, too. The island has so many beaches, though, soit can be hard to choose which one is perfect for you. Here’s a look at our favorite Mykonos beaches to visit:

Super Paradise Beach

Super Paradise beach is located right next to another popular beach, Paradise Beach. Here, you can reach Super Paradise Beach by the local bus service and through taxi boat. Many tourists and locals consider Super Paradise Beach to be among the most beautiful beaches in all of Greece. The sand here is very soft and the water is warm and shines a gorgeous blue. It is a popular beach that can also get crowded during peak travel season.

Elia Beach

Elia Beach is one of the longest beachesin all of Mykonos. Besides getting a suntan, you can get a beer in one of several local taverns, or participate in water sports such as windsurfing, parasailing, and water-skiing. This beach is also popular amongst nudists, so if you aren’t comfortable with that, you might be better off finding a different beach.  A good thing about this beach is that it does tend to be a lot quieter than both Paradise and Super Paradise beaches.

Kalo Livadi Beach

Known as one of the longest beaches in all of Mykonos, many people love it for the parties and beautiful facilities. Among other things, Kalo Livadi Beach is known for its crystal blue waters and its idyllic landscape. Most days, you can get sundecks and umbrellas where you can get a suntan and stay away from the crowds. Fortunately, the beach isn’t too crowded so you can put your beach towel almost anywhere you want. Kalo Livadi Beach is also known to be family-friendly because the waters aren’t too deep and the beach isn’t too noisy.

Platis Gialos Beach

Known as one of the most popular beaches in all of Mykonos, tourists and locals alike come to this location for the soft, warm sand and turquoise waters. If you’re traveling to Greece, you can stay in one of the hotels near this beach location.

In addition to the sun and water, visitors can wine and dine at one of the many restaurants and bars in the area. Those tourists coming from Greece’s capital can take a bus that leaves every 30 minutes.

Paradise Beach

At Paradise Beach, you can find great bars, a diving center, water sports, and even a few nudists. Many people like the Cavo Paradiso, a complex that contains a beach bar, a restaurant, and a pool. At night, you can dance with your friends at one of the clubs on the beach. In fact, this is a great family beach by day, but it is also a top place for nightlife at night.

Greece is certainly known for its beaches, and the island of Mykonos has some of the best the country has to offer. You really can’t go wrong no matter which you visit!
